Lithium-ion Battery Energy Storage Systems
Siemens is a leading solution provider in the protection of Li-ion Energy Storage Systems (UL) with the FDA series of Aspirating Smoke Detectors for Desigo™ Fire Safety Modular and Cerberus™ PRO Modular and life safety management systems.
Our solution with the FDA241 detector offers a unique dual-wavelength technology which provides early detection of pending Li-Ion battery thermal events allowing more time for mitigation before a fire starts.
Aspirating smoke detectors are primarily used in areas where point detectors cannot, or have a limited usage. These include inaccessible or restrictive areas like Li-on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS), and Demand Management Clean Room.
