Distribution automation enables real-time adjustments to changing loads and distribution system failures with or without operator intervention. The Siemens Distribution Feeder Automation (SDFA) provides a decentralized system using peer-to-peer communications and logic to improve reliability and efficiency for overhead and underground networks. 

CMR recloser
Compact Modular Recloser (CMR)

Siemens CMR recloser is an intelligent, lightweight, reduced-maintenance, vacuum interrupting alternative to traditional single-phase oil-filled reclosers.

Surge arresters: arc protection system (APS)

Currently, the APS is available for types 3EK4 and 3EK7 distribution class arresters. These units are designed to mitigate the creation and spread of molten material thus, suited for hot and dry regions that have a high risk of wildfires. They are in compliance with the Cal Fire Power Line Fire Prevention Field Guide (2008), successfully passed all required testing, and have been awarded permanent exemption status. 

Distribution voltage regulators types JFR and SFR

Type JFR single phase 2.5-19.9 kV and type SFR three phase 13.2 to 34.5 kV. The five-eighths percent (5/8%) step voltage is a standard within the industry. Leading the way with innovations, including static controls and the evolution of the microprocessor-based control panels, Siemens provides a full range of ratings system voltages and current applications; manufacturing everything from the smallest single-phase, pole-mount unit to large substation regulators.  Siemens has the largest quantity of regulators installed globally.

Bushings

Siemens offers a variety of transformer bushing types (oil/air (RIP), oil/oil (RIP), oil/air (RIS), oil/gas (RIP)) covering all requirements for high- and ultra-high voltage technology with the current product range. Due to an increase in in-feed from renewable energy, higher requirements exist. Introducing the STAOIP, a new generation of oil-impregnated paper (OIP).  In addition, tailored services for bushing design as well as installation and maintenance are offered.
