Medium-voltage roll-in replacement circuit breakers
Roll-in replacement breakers provide a cost effective way to upgrade your system capabilities to current vacuum technology while preserving your investment in existing cubicles and cables. A direct replacement circuit breaker rolls into an existing switchgear cubicle without cubicle modification.
Customer benefits include:
Designs available for most Allis-Chalmers, Westinghouse, GE, Federal Pacific, ITE, and McGraw Edison models
Superior performance and longer service life (anticipated: 10,000 full load operations, 10 year maintenance cycle)
Standard operator on all Siemens replacement medium-voltage distribution and outdoor vacuum circuit breakers
Design and tested to meet ANSI and IEEE standards
Nuclear 1E rated designs.
Switchgear and circuit breakers refurbishment
In a controlled factory environment, Siemens’ factory-trained technicians refurbish Siemens and Allis-Chalmers’ medium-voltage circuit breakers, switchgear, and high-voltage SF6 circuit
breakers to factory certified condition. Siemens’ refurbishment program covers all parts normally replaced during circuit breaker refurbishment. If additional components do not meet Siemens’ specifications, Siemens will provide a detailed quotation to replace those items in order to restore your equipment to factory certified operating condition.
Refurbishment process:
Perform “as received” inspection and test to verify operation
Disassemble for detailed inspection and cleaning
Replace all parts normally replaced during refurbishment (If additional components do not meet Siemens’ specifications, Siemens will provide detailed quote to replace items to restore equipment to factory certified condition.)
Clean, repaint, and lubricate key components
Reassemble per OEM assembly drawings
Factory test as new to OEM specifications in accordance to applicable ANSI standards
Provide report including “as received” and “final” tests; list of replaced components
Customer receives one year warranty that covers parts and labor.
Match-in-line switchgear
Siemens can extend your GM switchgear by adding additional sections and
circuit breakers compatible with the existing line-up. As the original equipment
manufacturer (OEM), Siemens has a comprehensive database of drawings and manufacturing
capabilities to fabricate a direct match. Siemens designs and manufactures all interfaces
and extensions, including bus work and protection and control panels. Siemens' factory-
trained field service technicians will work with customers to install, connect, test, and
commission the switchgear match-in-line extension.
Customer benefits include:
Solutions available for Siemens / Allis-Chalmers legacy switchgear types GM, D, F, and other types
Comprehensive database of drawings and manufacturing capabilities to fabricate a direct match
Full range of factory and field service capabilities by skilled factory-trained engineers and technicians
Design and tested to meet ANSI and IEEE standards.
Safety remote racking solutions
Siemens provides safety remote racking solutions to keep operators clear of the arc flash zone during breaker racking. Siemens can provide several remote racking options to meet your needs.
Ground and test devices
Siemens can provide both manually-operated and electrically-operated ground and test devices suitable for phasing out, testing and grounding switchgear bus or feeder when the device is installed in place of circuit breaker.
Siemens can provide ground and test devices for the following switchgear:
- GM 5/15kV Switchgear
- GM 38kV Switchgear
- Allis-Chalmers/Siemens Type D and Type F Switchgear.
